Bob and Patti Zarlengo

The St. Joseph Award is presented annually to a member of the Holy Family High School community who exemplifies our Mission and Vision in their daily lives and further demonstrates their passion for Holy Family in all they contribute through time, talent, and treasure.  We are honored to give our 6th Annual St. Joseph Award to Bob and Patti Zarlengo.  

Bob and Patti Zarlengo have been an integral part of the Holy Family High School community since 1989, when their eldest son, Matthew, began his freshman year. Over the years, all three of their children graduated from Holy Family: Matt in 1993, Mike in 1997, and Anna in 2000.

Eager to contribute to the faith-filled community, Patti joined the Parent Advisory Board and became involved in discussions about relocating the school to a larger campus. After Patti shared these plans with Bob, they joined eight other parents to form PACE (Parents Advocating Catholic Education). Working with the Archdiocese of Denver, the group brought the relocation project to fruition - a process Bob describes as his most incredible spiritual journey.

In 1999, the new Holy Family campus opened its doors, and 25 years later, the school stands as a testament to the dedication and vision of those involved. The success of this project, achieved during a time when few Catholic high schools were being built in the United States, brought well-deserved recognition to the PACE members, who credit their achievements to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

In acknowledgment of their extraordinary contributions, Bob and Patti were honored by Pope Benedict XVI, upon the recommendation of Archbishop Charles Chaput, as a knight and dame of the Pontifical Order of St. Gregory the Great on July 10, 2012. This prestigious distinction recognized their personal service to the Holy See and the Catholic Church.

Holy Family High School remains close to Bob and Patti’s hearts, and they continue to express gratitude to God for the privilege of being part of this remarkable community.
